Audition Information
Audition with the Chorale
If you are interested in singing with the chorale, please call (303) 442-5081 to schedule an audition for the Fall semester.
Auditions for the Fall 2010 semester will be held by appointment before rehearsals at the start of the season. Please call Kay at (303) 442-5081 to schedule a time. The auditions and rehearsals are held at the First Baptist Church (1237 Pine St. - NW corner of 13th and Pine) in downtown Boulder
While previous singing experience is helpful, we invite all people who have music in their hearts and want to let it out for others to enjoy to audition. Auditions for the chorale are informal and do not require a prepared piece.
If you think you would like to audition but would like to visit a rehearsal first, please come to one of our Monday night rehearsals at 7:00pm. You can audition after the rehearsal and it will give you a chance to see how we rehearse.
Why Should You Audition? Come join the excitement!
Singing Builds Community
The members of Rocky Mountain Chorale have been of a wide range of ages (under 19 to over 70), a wide variety of occupations (engineers to teachers to doctors to artists to lawyers to homemakers to you-name-it) and from all over the Northern Front Range (Boulder, Evergreen, Denver, Greeley, Loveland, Westminster, and beyond). We hold community-building functions (potlucks, parties, etc) at least twice a year and perform at community outreach concerts at least twice a year. We are a really friendly group of people!
Your Singing Skills Will Improve
While we always have fun, we also make it a goal to learn new things by being in RMC and we love singing good music really well. Many members of RMC say that this has been an excellent way to sing a variety of music and to practice singing on a regular basis.
It Is Fun!
How many other groups get to take a gourmet snack break in the middle of their rehearsals? We do -- and we cherish it!
