The Rocky Mountain Chorale was founded in 1978 by a group of singers who wanted more options for singing in a community choir. It has been bringing the joy of chorale music to Boulder ever since.
VALUES:
- We strive for musical excellence but never at the expense of our members’ enjoyment.
- The greatness of our music making can only be as great as the connection of our community.
- We intend to make every musical gathering an opportunity for growth and learning regardless of previous musical background.
- Everyone belongs, and no one needs to fit in.
PURPOSE:
- We bring out the best of our shared humanity through communal musical moments.
MISSION:
- We aim to collaborate with Cantabile, community partners and LGBTQIA+ groups (e.g. Matthew Sheppard foundation, including interviews, social media, funding, sponsorships) to present an impactful Matthew Sheppard performance in Spring 2027.

Land Acknowledgement
Rocky Mountain Chorale (RMC) acknowledges that we gather on the ancestral homelands and unceded territory of Indigenous Peoples who have traversed, lived in and stewarded the lands of Boulder County. The Indigenous Nations include the Di De’i (Apache), Hinono’eiteen (Arapaho), Tséts?hést?hese (Cheyenne), N?m?n?? (Comanche), Caiugu (Kiowa), ?ariks i ?ariks (Pawnee), Sosonih (Shoshone), Oc’eti S’akowin (Sioux) and Núuchiu (Ute) and many other Native American nations who were removed unjustly, and that we in this community are the beneficiaries of that removal. We honor them as we gather here to engage as a community and work toward healing and a culture of inclusion through music.
